These are what we call the two Ducs. The guys in the family are made about Ducati's and this is Scott's pride and joy.........there are only 13 in Australia of this model Senna.

It's Raining

It's raining, it's pouring.
The old man is snoring.
He bumped his head on the end of the bed and couldn't get up in the morning.

Oh how we would chant this rhyme when we were kids. Well that sums up our weather at the moment. We have had the highest rainfall in the State of NSW today and our backyard is rather soggy. I meant to take a picture of the mist on this hills looking out from our backyard. I love looking at the hills in all their different moods. While I was picking more strawberries this afternoon I noticed the cows in the paddock near us were looking really miserable in the rain. Just had flashed on the TV severe weather warnings for our area with heavy rain likely.

It has eased off for the moment so whether we will get the storms, I'm not sure.

It was lovely to finish work and come home out of all the rain. Duc was waiting at the door to greet me with his usual wiggling, squirming body. Nathan said Duc spent most of the day sleeping under the bed......LOL.

Well off to do some more reading before "The Bill" is on TV.

This week I have also done a little knitting on a Sweater for myself. This is a Debbie Bliss Design from Book 2. I have nearly finished the 2nd sleeve and then it will just be the neck to knit. The intricate cables are beautiful in this sweater but you have to constantly be aware of where you are in the pattern.

Hot/Cold & Christmas Shopping

After the hot days it has now turned cool........go figure. Had to put a blanket on the bed last night and today it is very cool with showers of rain. Of course it will rain......I have my clothes on the line.

Yesterday we went Christmas Shopping............just call me SCROOG. I HATE Christmas shopping. We decided to make a list before we went and then went around the different stores comparing prices. We got a Breville Juicer with Juice Book for Brooke, 2 DVD players one for Dad and Mum.......bringing them new technology and one for Kevin. Scott and Brooke are getting a PS2 from Nathan and us. A vacuum cleaner for Karli & Ben. Nothing exciting..........just pratical I'm afraid.

We tried ringing Karli before we left to shop and couldn't raise her on the phone so we went ahead and got her the vacuum cleaner. She really wanted clothes but John wanted to get her something pratical. We got a phone call just after purchasing the vacuum cleaner to say they brought one last week.........just a cheepie. AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGG. Well they are still getting the good one from us and I will take her shopping to get some clothes. I HATE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING.

Poor Nathan's left ankle was giving him terrible pain after we got home. I think I might have to get it checked out if it keeps getting so sore.

The Bethrothed

Sunday 5th December

Where of where did the last week go. One minute I am off to work and then here we are Sunday again. It has been another busy week in my household. Tuesday I went to hospital to have a minor procedure........the last thing I remember before drifting off was HELP they are going to stick that tube down my throat and I AM NOT out to it yet. Thank goodness the anesthetic worked. I was so pleased not to have a migraine afterwards. I spend Wednesday indoors with the air con turned way up as the temps were 42C. I managed to get a lot of stitching done on "The Bethrothed"..........am now up to 29hrs.

Relaxing Sunday

Today has been a very relaxing with the weather a little overcast but the temp just right. I did a little housework note the emphsis on LITTLE. I have a motto "Cross Stitch forever Housework whenever". Started reading a book called "The Idea of Perfection" by Kate Grenville which is the selection for Book Club which meets on the 1st Thursday of each month. I have read 100 pages today and I must say I am really enjoying the story.

Sorted out all the extra threads I got during the week for "The Bethrothed" - Golden Kite. This pattern has 32 pages and I have only worked about 10 hours on it so far. This is going to be a very long term project but will be stunning when it is finished.

I can't believe that the week-end is nearly over and the it is back to work tomorrow.............yuck. I guess I shouldn't complain to hard as I usually only work from 9am - 2.30-3pm. I have a really full week coming up with a Patchwork & Stitching group meeting on Tuesday evening and then on Thursday arvo a massage with a Christmas party for the Stitching Group that night. We also have a work Christmas party on Saturday evening. I am going to have to be extra good as I don't want to blow the diet and losing weight. So far I have lost 7.3kgs and I want to look 1/2 decent for my nieces wedding coming up in January 2nd.

Bowl of strawberries anyone. Don't these just look so yummy. Our strawberry patch is looking just wonderful and we are picking lots of strawberries daily. I love picking them and searching under the leaves to find the little treasure of red gold. The is the best year yet for our strawberry plants.

Disappearing Post

Not sure what happened to my first post........but it seems to have disappeared. I guess I will learn as I muddle through this.
This is a Blog about my stitching with a few family snippets thrown in........okay may be a lot of family snippets.
I have been working nearly all week on Mystery G which is No. 3 in the Gemstone Mysteries. I just love these designs. Martina is incredibly talented and I am totally addicted to stitching these designs. So far there have been about 13 hrs stitching in Mystery G.

So much for hitting the bed and stitching. I have just spent the last 10 mins. rescuing a beautiful green frog from Duc (mini long haired daschund). This green frog is a frequent visitor and I keep rescuing him and taking him out of harms way..............but he keeps coming back for more. This is him.......I guess I should give him a name. What about Freddo......well he may not be chocolate but Duc keeps want to eat him. Or maybe he may turn out to be my prince charming.
